LUCE Il progetto “Luce” si sviluppa in India, a cavallo tra il 2007 e il 2008 ed è più propriamente un viaggio. Viaggio della durata di circa un mese, durante il quale ho creato una sorta di archivio fotografico. Attraverso l’utilizzo di una macchina Polaroid, ho fotografato e documentato le persone che ho incontrato. Le particolari caratteristiche del mezzo utilizzato, mi hanno permesso di creare istantaneamente fotografie uniche ed irripetibili. Ogni fotografia è stata da me donata alla persona che vi era raffigurata ed il mio archivio è in questo modo in loro possesso. Esso è costituito da circa quaranta immagini e di ciascuna Polaroid esiste un’unica copia ad eccezione di una: la prima da me scattata. Ho scelto di rappresentare l’intero progetto e quindi l’archivio nella sua totalità attraverso questa immagine “diversa” di cui esitono due copie: una in mio possesso ed un’altra che appartiene ad una delle due persone che vi sono raffigurate. In questo modo la mia decisione di creare un archivio perde la sua brutalità e si libera, passando direttamente nelle mani dei soggetti archiviati per i quali l’archiviazione stessa è solamente un gioco. |

| Light
The project "Light" is developed in India, between 2007 and 2008 and is more properly a trip. A month of travelling, during which I created a sort of photo archive. Through the use of a Polaroid camera, I photographed and documented the people I met. The particular characteristics of the medium used, allowed me to instantly create unique and unrepeatable photographs. Each photograph was given by me to its “subject”, and along this lines, my archive is now in their hands. It consists in about forty images, and there is only one copy of each Polaroid except for one: the first one taken. I have chosen to represent the entire project, and then the concept in its entirety through this "different" one image of which two copies exist: one in my possession, and another in one of two people who are depicted’s hands. In this way, my decision to create an archive loses its brutality and acquires freedom, going directly into the hands of those recipients to which the archive itself is nothing but a game. |
